The Montana Hotel is housed a solidly traditional - if rather unexciting - 5-storey corner building, which dates from the 1900s. The small lobby is attractively appointed with a marble floor, a dark wooden reception desk and leather chairs. The hotel boasts the unique feature of a glass elevator in the atrium, which ascends to all five floors. The 76 medium sized guestrooms have been comprehensively refurbished with modern furniture and bright contrasting fabrics, although they retain a traditional feel. They are well maintained, as are the tiled en suite bathrooms. The hotel offers breakfast and casual evening dining in "Le Lyonnais," a French-style bistro/bar, which spills out onto the pavement in fine weather and is a favourite with local residents.
