The Goldenes Schwert Hotel is a gay-friendly property, run by gay owners. It shares its premises with T&M Club, the oldest gay nightspot in Zurich, which is open until the small hours and can be a little noisy. The lobby is small and decorated in a modern style. Many of the 22 guestrooms, shared over 3 floors, feature hand painted murals and wild colour schemes while others are simpler and plainer. All are clean and well maintained, as are the tiled en suite bathrooms. Breakfast is served in the guest rooms by a maid (guests should fill in an order form before going to bed to specify what they want and when they want it, and then hang it on their door.) The hotel bar, "Pigalle", serves drinks and snacks and features a mosaic wall depicting scenes of Parisian life. During summer guests can also relax in the beer garden with a drink or snack.
