The Lady's First Design Hotel is housed in a pale grey 19th-century townhouse. Once a rooming house for country girls attending school in the big city, it has two floors that cater exclusively to women - a first in Switzerland. In the public areas, stylish colour schemes and steel furnishings complement the original 1900 parquet floors and high stuccoed ceilings. All of the 28 guestrooms are similarly defined by bold, contemporary colour schemes, high ceilings, decorative plasterwork, unique parquet floors and designer furnishings. The work of famous Swiss designer Pia Schmid, the are kept in excellent condition, as are the tiled en suite bathrooms. The hotel offers a rich Continental buffet every morning in the bright, welcoming breakfast room, which is located on the ground floor with a polished wood floor and modern furniture. The rooftop terrace affords panoramic views over the city, lake and countryside and in the evenings guests can relax with drinks in the contemporary lobby bar.
