Originally built in the 1940s, the Swiss Q Rex Hotel is housed in a white-painted, relatively nondescript-looking building. The interior is fairly understated too, its décor brightened up with assertive colours and jazz posters. The 37 guestrooms are conservatively appointed in a modern style and are equipped with neat, organised bathrooms. They also have work desks and computer connections for business travellers. The hotel’s “Blauer Apfel” restaurant draws a loyal, young-professional clientele to its cool, blue-halogen-lit tables. It offers a rich Continental buffet breakfast and a lunch menu composed of fresh and seasonal cuisine.
