Set close to the railway station, the Walhalla Hotel is one of the relatively cheap bargains in central Zurich. It occupies two five-story buildings, one of which was renovated in 1997, and houses 48 guestrooms. The interior features legends of Nordic and Greek Gods, artistically realised by a well known Zurich artist. Rooms in the renovated building are appointed in a modern style, while those in the older one feature high ceilings but possess rather less architectural flair. However, all the rooms are clean and well maintained, as are the tiled en suite bathrooms. The hotel offers a rich Continental buffet every morning in its breakfast room, which is located on the ground floor.
